Budd Babb, Ph.D.

Dr. Budd Babb is a senior Organizational Development Consultant, Coach and Educator with Paradigm Associates and has over 25 years of successful experience guiding a wide-variety of organizations in the United States, Canada, the Arctic, Great Britain, Brazil and Japan to achieve dramatic improvements in quality, productivity, customer loyalty and financial success.

He has worked closely with and helped CEOs, executive management teams, work teams, cross-functional improvement teams, middle managers and operational staff to successfully develop reliable strategic plans and implement needed process improvements.

Budd's expertise includes: organizational design and restructuring, change management, quality management, process improvement, cycle-time reduction, leadership development and executive coaching for Fortune 100 manufacturing companies, government services, hospitals, universities and other organizations that are committed to continuously improving quality service, productivity and bottom-line success. Among other achievements he guided a Canadian power company to save $2MM by redesigning a startup plan for a new power facility. He also led improvement teams for 8 west coast manufacturing facilities to cut unnecessary costs and increase ROI $10MM within 18 months.

He is a natural communicator and relationship builder as he works with individuals and teams focused on continuous improvement. He has strong motivational, coaching and presentation skills that quickly earn him needed credibility with managers and employees at all organizational levels.

After earning his undergraduate degree, he served as a Naval Flight Officer-Navigator (LCDR) with U.S. Navy Long-Range Patrol Squadros with more than 3400 flight hours keeping track of East Block aircraft and shipping transiting the North Atlantic. His consulting and coaching reflects his Naval experience by helping people in organizations "navigate" their way to stay on course and on target to provide their customers with outstanding services and products. He is a "Navigator" that helps people in organizations to bring their "Heads and Hearts" to work so that their organizations can be at their best every day!

He has 10 years experience as an internal Organizational Development Consultant, Coach and Educator for the Weyerhaeuser Company and Carrier Corporation where he was instrumental in developing Quality Management models that were successfully implement in both organizations. He has been A Director of Organizational Development at Purdue University where he developed over 50 departmental process improvement facilitators that led 110 improvement teams throughout the university: cutting wastes, costs, cycle times and improving key administrative processes. He personally facilitated an improvement team that reduced the time for processing student admissions applications from 6 weeks to 6 days.

Budd is a graduate of Drew University (BA), Lehigh University (MA) and earned his doctorate at the University of Oregon in Organizational Behavior and Change management. He has also completed post-graduate work in Organizational Design and Restructuring at the UCLA Graduate School of Management. He holds certifications in Organizational Development Consulting and MBTI Administration from the National Training Laboratories for Applied Behavioral Science, and is an expert in Total Quality Management. He has also led study missions of American senior manager groups over five years to visit and learn quality management principles and practices from more than 50 world-class companies in Japan.
